Fish-Farming: The Answer or Another Problem?
Judge for yourself… isn’t learning fun?
Addendum: Ok, follow the logic here. If you feed fish to fish—basically converting one species into another—the conversion isn’t 1:1. Right? I mean, it can’t be. There is always some energy lost somewhere in the process. So, if you convert say 4 tons of anchovies into feed for tuna, you might only get a 4:1 conversion, or only 1 ton of tuna. That’s a pretty hefty loss that only makes sense in the context of money. So, we, as the human race, aren’t gaining anything by this, hungry people that live where those anchovies were caught aren’t gaining food, we’re just turning cheap fishing into more expensive fish to inflate the bank accounts of fish-market investors somewhere.
